Mezcal

All tequilas are mezcals, but not all mezcals are tequilas.  Mezcal has often been misrepresented as "smoky" tequila.  That is like calling champagne "carbonated" wine.  Mezcal is an amazingly complex spirit that can be made from over 20 different varieties of agave - some of which grow wild and are so rare that only a very limited number of bottles can be made in a batch.  Mezcal can only be produced in the following states of Mexico -
